Today is the start of “30 paintings in 30 days” from Leslie Saeta’s Blog. My theme this time is “Transportation, past and present”. This topic has so many great possibilities. For today’s painting my inspiration came from a photo I took when driving home from Patris’s Studio in Sacramento after taking a workshop with Randy Blasquez. As I was driving I saw these 3 VW Bugs lined up with the palms and pulled over and took the photo.

Great painting and subject, and a great idea for a theme. My first car was a light blue VW…I totaled it 😦 But I’ve loved VWs ever since.
